Dogs Alert Homeowner to Home Intruder

The intruder fled without taking anything, Prince William County Police said.

A Woodbridge homeowner's dog woke her up and alerted her to an intruder in the home, Prince William County Police said. 

The homeowner woke up around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday evening, checked the home, and found an unknown man inside. The man immediately fled, and the homeowner did not report any property missing. Police said there were no signs of forced entry. 

The suspect is described as a black male, 16 or 17 years old, 6 feet tall, with black hair and a thin build. He was carrying a red backpack and wearing a red shirt.
