Fire Displaces Family of Seven in Dale City

Firefighters extinguish basement blaze, according to Prince William Fire and Rescue.

Release, Prince William County Fire and Rescue:

On Friday, March 21, at approximately 2 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a two-story, single-family home located in the 4000 block of Forge Drive in Dale City.  

Upon arrival, firefighters were notified that the residents had safely evacuated the home. Fire and rescue units proceeded to the basement where they observed extensive smoke and fire.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and searched for further extension; no further extension was found.  

Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the displaced family, 3 adults and 4 children. Animal Control was called to the scene to assist with placement of family pets.  

The home has been posted unsafe by the Building Inspector.  

The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
