Police: Suspect Wanted For Strangulation Attempt in Woodbridge

The victim also reported that her phone had been broken when she tried to call for help.

Lorton resident Gregory Lee Kittrell Jr, 33, is wanted for strangulationdomestic assault and batterydestruction of property, and violation of a protective order after a Woodbridge woman reported a man trying to strangle her, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Police initially responded to a house on Mayflower Drive in Woodbridge on Nov. 7 at 6:26 p.m. for the report of a domestic assault that allegedly happened on Nov. 1.

"The victim, a 33-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated," Perok said. "During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, began to strangle her. The victim attempted to call the police however the accused took the victim’s phone and broke it. After the altercation, the accused left the residence. Minor injuries were reported. The victim had a protective order on file against the accused at the time of this incident."

After an investigation, police got warrants out against Kittrell.

The photo above is from October of 2012. Kittrell, of last known address 6706 Red Bird Woods Court in Lorton, is described as a black man about 5-foot-10, 175 pounds with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes.
