Police: Two Men Assault, Attempt to Rob Man Near Potomac Festival

Nothing was stolen, Prince William County Police said.

Police are looking for two men who reportedly assaulted and tried to rob another man near Potomac Festival on Potomac Mills Road on Aug. 28, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Police responded at 2:11 a.m. that same day for the report of a robbery.

"The victim, a 38-year-old man of no fixed address, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached from behind by two unknown men," Perok said. "During the encounter, the men assaulted the victim and demanded his property. The victim was able to fight off the men who then fled the area on foot."

Nothing was stolen, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police are looking for a white man between 20 and 30 years old, six feet tall, about 160 pounds, with a thin build. He was described as wearing a black T-shirt and khaki shorts.
