Woodbridge resident Ronell Lewis, 28, is wanted for reckless driving and possession of stolen property after he reportedly escaped an arrest attempt on Aug. 21, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

An officer stopped a vehicle on Aug. 21 at 1:20 a.m. for a traffic violation.

"During the stop, the officer learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen by another law enforcement agency in July," Perok said. "As the officer was attempting to arrest the driver, he pushed off of the vehicle causing the officer to step backwards. At that point, the accused fled on foot. A police K-9 was called to assist in the search for the man. During a search of the vehicle, officers further learned that the driver had provided them with a false identity and also located multiple baggies of suspected marijuana."

After an investigation, police got out warrants against the accused. Lewis is described as a black man about 6-foot-4 in heigh, weighing about 220 pounds, with a medium build, brown eyes, and black hair. He is wanted for reckless driving, possession of stolen property, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, driving on a revoked license, escape with force, and providing false identification to law enforcement
