Suspect Identified in Armed Robbery at Gas Station in Woodbridge

Men allegedly pulled out a handgun during purchase and stole the cash drawer in Aug. 9 incident, according to Prince William County Police.

Prince William County Police have released the name and photo of one of two suspects in the Aug. 9 armed robbery of a Sunoco gas station at 1260 Annapolis Way.

Edward George Russell, 23, of Castleton Street in Upper Marlboro, Md., is wanted for robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. 

Prince William County Police say two men walked into the Sunoco at 7:12 p.m. on Aug. 9. One of the men walked up to the counter for a purchase. When the cashier opened the register, the man reportedly displayed a handgun and stole the cash drawer. 

The men fled the scene in a car driven by an unknown third person. Police note the investigation continues in the search for Russell and in determining the identity of the second suspect.
