"Upon answering the door, the victim was confronted by a man, later identified as Roosevelt Singleton, who was armed with a handgun. A struggle ensued between the two men and during the encounter Singleton was shot multiple times. Police found suspect Ronnie Sawyer and determined he had been involved.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at Boyd’s apartment," Perok said. "During the search, a stolen handgun was discovered. Following the investigation, charges were placed against the parties involved. The investigation continues."
